Weldon L. Ewy's Obituary
Hanston – Weldon L. Ewy, 89, died October 9, 2012, at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
He was born April 22, 1923, in Hodgeman County, Kansas, the son of Henry and Anna Ewy. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer/stockman.
He belonged to the Hanston Mennonite Church, Sunday school teacher, and served on the church board, all of Hanston. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Jetmore Senior Center.
On January 21, 1951, he married Christine H. Ortman in Moundridge. She died October 21, 2008.
Survivors include: a son, Doug and wife Barb, Hanston; a daughter, Barbara Gibbs, Jetmore; two sisters, Frances White, Kingman, Dorothy Buller, Manhattan; two grandchildren, Robert Gibbs, Jetmore and Christie Gibbs, Fort Morgan, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Norton.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at the Hanston Mennonite Church, Hanston, with Rev. Carl Vincent presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8p.m. Wednesday and 9a.m. to 8p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Hanston Mennonite Cemetery, Hanston.
