Garfield - Wendell Wayne Fertig, 86, passed away September 3, 2011 at the Medicalodge, Kinsley.
He was born June 10, 1925 in Garfield; the son of Frank Abraham and Freda Blume Fertig. A lifetime area resident he was a farmer.
He was of the Christian Faith.
On April 3, 1955 he married Patty Jane Blackburn at Larned. She passed away June 30, 1998.
Survivors include; a cousin, Jeff Fertig, Larned, a nephew, Chad Blackburn, Wichita, his companion, Geneva Chapman, Kinsley, cousins, Jerry Stude, Dodge City, Phyllis Kermit, Dodge City, Mike Stude, Garfield and many other cousins.
Funeral will 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with the Pastor Irving Simon presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery, Garfield.
Memorials may be given to the Pawnee County Humane Society, in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
