William (Bill) C. Shiew's Obituary
Jetmore – William (Bill) C. Shiew, 101, died February 1, 2013, at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
He was born June 22, 1911, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Frank and Leticia VanSteenburgh Shiew. A lifetime area resident, he was a businessman.
He belonged to the First Baptist Church, Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellow Lodge, City Council Member and School Board Member, all of Jetmore.
On August 21, 1937, he married Vera Mae McKibbin in Kinsley. She died February 12, 1990.
Other survivors include: two sons, Duane Shiew and wife Jeanette, Jetmore, James, Buena Vista, Colorado; a daughter, Patrice Witman and husband Gene, Jetmore; six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a son Daniel; five brothers, Orval, Frank and John Shiew, Tom and Ed Gass, four sisters, Juanita and Irene Brown, Adeline Shiew, and Mae Gass.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Jetmore with Pastor Rod McMillian and Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore
