Larned- William "Bill" L. Gross, 90, passed away August 23, 2018 at Diversicare of Larned.

He was born September 11, 1927 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Reinhold "Jack" William and Mildred Jane Rayl Gross; moving from Russell to Larned in 1950, he was the owner/operator of Uncle Bill's A.G.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned; was an original charter member of the Noon Lions Club where he held perfect attendance for 62 years, was a past president and school board member for USD#495; a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Larned.  He loved boating, fishing, golfing and always enjoyed being involved in community activities, such as playing Santa Clause for over 50 years.

On June 15, 1952, he married Nola Jean Deighton in Larned, KS. She survives.

Other survivors include; a son, Steven (Brenda) Gross, Larned; a brother, Robert (Norma) Gross, Cedar Rapids, IA; a sister, Barbara (Dale) Cook, Hutchinson; a sister-in-law, Janis Pierson, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Hagerman; a brother Jerry Gross and a sister, Allene Leach.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Damon Bradley and Pastor Jerel Hagerman presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8p.m. Monday with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial with military honors will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
