Larned - Winnie I. Ashley, 81, passed away November 5, 2014 at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 11, 1933 in Oklahoma the daughter of George and Edna Messner Neal. A longtime area resident; she was a Licensed Mental Health Technician at the Larned State Hospital.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Larned and participated in the Farmers Market in Great Bend.
On February 24, 1957 she married Leonard Ashley they later divorced. He passed away May 28, 2013.
Survivors include; two daughters; Anita Watkins, Larned and Linda Durham and husband John, Grand Junction, Colorado; a sister, Vada Trout and husband Sam, Modesto, California; two grandchildren, Eric Elston and wife Tiffany and Logan Watkins all of Larned and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by; a son, Eric Allen Ashley; a daughter, Mary Neal, and two brothers, Gerald Neal and Elmo Neal.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor LeRoy Lyon presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
